A WORD FROM FOX ‘N HORN
While it is our hope to be able to hold the 2020 shows, we know in these uncertain times it may well be out of our control to have a show at that time. It will be a disappointment to not be able to get together with all of you like we have for over 20 years, it is more important that we all stay safe & healthy! If need be we will just reschedule the show(s) and plan to meet up a little later than normal!
To Our Competitors and Supporters:
Happy Fall!
We are back for the 24th year! Therefore, I am including my usual plea for helping hands during the shows. If you or someone who comes to the show with you can volunteer a couple of hours during the show to help at the back gate, hand out ribbons, or help as part of the jump crew, it will make a huge difference for the small group that brings you these shows each year.
Opening and closing the back gate can be done in conjunction with sitting most of the time and allows the volunteer to watch the action. Handing out ribbons entails hanging out around the back gate and walking out into the arena at the end of each class. Again, much time can be spent sitting and watching the fun. Jump crew requires a little more physical activity, but only sporadically, as we raise, lower, or move jumps. None of these jobs requires special knowledge of horses or horse shows.
If you know someone who would like to participate as an announcer, ring steward, or in the show office – we can always use more hands there as well.
The original idea for these shows 24 years ago was to offer a relaxed, friendly atmosphere for horses and riders to get their feet wet in the show world. We have had great volunteers over the years to make this possible, but can always use some extra help going forward.
Thank you in advance,
Danielle Stone
